Whether the use of notebooks is becoming obsolete with the increasing performance of smart-phones, this piece by Isabelle Mattern certainly works a treat. The 3 in 1 notebook twists the limit of something rather simple. It appears to be an elegant solution to the problem I have with storing all the notes that I acquire across different mediums. Moreover, the designer herself presents a fresh view on all sorts of graphics. One particularly pleasing result is from the quirky flipbooks that build up a sense of architectural understanding within their pages. It is, however, as I said, fresh, and it is not a construction process that is seen whilst flicking through the pages, but a building of an image, the lines are added progressively. Perhaps architects trying to see their designs in a different light should admire their handiwork in such a way. In conclusion, it’s nice to see a reinvention of some of the more traditional ideas. Definitely one to watch.
thank you so much for your review, I’m very flattered :)
